Ryman Hospitality has purchased the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas for an impressive $800 million from Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust (BREIT). Situated on 640 acres of land in the picturesque Texas Hill Country, this resort opened its doors to guests back in 2010 and features 1,002 rooms as well as 268,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.

The resort’s amenities include a 26,000-square-foot Lantana Spa; eight food and beverage outlets; a 9-acre River Bluff water experience; plus two 18-hole golf courses – the Greg Norman designed Oaks Course alongside Pete Dye’s Canyons course – all under TPC San Antonio. Nadeem Meghji from Blackstone commented on how successful this deal was: “This sale generates approximately $275 million profit over a five year hold period through Covid which represents an excellent outcome for BREIT shareholders.” Ryman plans to keep operating it under the JW Marriott flag.
