Additionally, they offer access to retail destinations for shopping or entertainment purposes.

Affordable housing options within close proximity (e.g., quarter mile) of transit stations are crucial for cultivating walkable/bikeable neighborhoods. Many states have programs that fund affordable housing developments near these infrastructure improvements.

Sustainability is another key factor in successful TODs as it promotes environmental benefits such as reduced CO2 emissions and vehicle miles traveled while prioritizing people-first design elements like well-maintained roads/landscaping/open spaces.

In conclusion,TODs can have a transformational impact on a city or county’s economic development by creating convenient mobility options between home/workplace/local attractions while promoting sustainability. By differentiating themselves from other locations with corporate site selectors through proper visioning/implementing of TODs,cities/counties can increase their business attraction/retention rates.
