Chicago’s South Side to Welcome First Branded Hotel in Over 40 Years
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved a new Hampton by Hilton hotel in the city’s Pullman neighborhood. The $30 million development will mark the first-ever nationally branded hotel in the community and the first such project to be built south of Hyde Park in more than four decades.
The 101-room hotel, developed by the Pullman Hotel Group, will rise at the intersection of 111th Street and Doty Avenue. Positioned along Interstate 94 and the Bishop Ford Expressway, the 62,000-square-foot, four-story facility will be strategically located adjacent to Pullman National Park’s Visitor Center, the State of Illinois Historic Site, and the 180-acre Pullman Park.
Construction is anticipated to begin early next year. The project is expected to create approximately 25 jobs upon completion and will include amenities such as a business center, exercise room, indoor pool, and on-site surface parking.
Funding for the property purchase is being supported through a Chicago Recovery Grant, with the land acquisition from the Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives. This milestone project aims to enhance tourism and economic activity in the historic Pullman area.
