Nordstrom, a Seattle-based department store, has announced the closure of its Tukwila quality center. The Puget Sound Business Journal reports that this decision will result in the layoff of approximately 70 employees early next year.

The company has stated that it will be relocating operations to the Midwest Fulfillment Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa once their lease expires at their current location. This move comes amidst challenges faced by Nordstrom such as corporate layoffs and the closure of its Canada operations. Additionally, Nordstrom recently closed its flagship San Francisco store due to changing dynamics downtown.

According to sources, Nordstrom’s quality center is housed in a 126,336-square-foot warehouse building located at 1000 Andover Park W. This facility is primarily used for processing returned and damaged products.
