The Palm Beach County Housing Authority has received approval to begin demolition of an existing building at the site, with plans to start in December. Located near the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches on 45th Street, this innovative construction project will consist of 48 cost-effective apartments made from cleaned-up shipping containers with added windows.
Designed for individuals earning between $45,000 and $72,000 annually, these units fill a gap in the market by providing housing options that are not low-income but also not within reach for many renters in Palm Beach County. This exciting development marks another successful use of discarded shipping containers as a sustainable solution for affordable housing needs.
