McCombs Enterprises, a prominent real estate company, is making strides in its Pearl-area mixed-use development project. Earlier this year, the company acquired a large portion of CPS Energy property and has since unveiled plans for the construction of apartments, office spaces and hotels along the River Walk. According to reports from San Antonio Business Journal, McCombs has joined forces with Denver-based McWhinney on this venture called “Jones Avenue at Museum Reach”, which is estimated to cost $300 million.
The joint effort will seek support from local and state policymakers in securing $35 million in public funds to ensure the success of this ambitious project.
Renderings reveal an impressive layout that includes 325 apartment units spread across a 13-story building and a six-story building; as well as 70,000 square feet of office space within a four-story structure. Additionally, there are plans for 146 hotel rooms and two parking garages with capacity for up to 904 vehicles. The name “McCombs Enterprises” pays homage to Red McCombs – renowned sports team owner, media executive, and car dealership mogul.
