Barshop & Oles, a prominent developer, has received final approval from the Austin City Council for a $1 billion redevelopment project at the Brodie Oaks Shopping Center in Austin. After years of discussions between the developer, local residents and city officials, plans have been finalized to transform the outdated strip mall into a mixed-use space featuring retail stores, housing units and an expansive park.

The ambitious redevelopment will encompass:

– 1.26 million square feet of office space
– 140,000 square feet of retail space
– 1,700 residential units
– 13.7 acres of outdoor green space
– A luxurious hotel with 200 rooms

Construction on phase one is slated to commence in 2025 and is expected to be completed by late2027. As construction begins on this exciting project,the current businesses located within the shopping center will need to relocate.
