A quarterly report by CoWorkingCafe indicates Atlanta is among the leading coworking markets. The findings of the report revealed that Atlanta ranked sixth for number of flexible coworking spaces with 210 – a 12-percent increase over Q1 – and seventh for total square footage covered by coworking spaces, with over 4.4 million square feet, an 8-percent growth.
Yardi Matrix Business Intelligence Manager Doug Ressler commented on how many companies are still uncertain about the number of employees who will be in their physical office space in either near or long term future: “To survive, property owners are asking ‘How do I make sure my company/property is still around to take advantage of the opportunity when it comes?’ Coworking/shared space is one such creative solution which addresses this question; loan extensions for commercial properties have been made possible due to proven opportunities to restore occupancy and increase cash flow in commercial office space.”
