Horizon House, a nonprofit, independent living senior community in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood, is planning to add a 33-story residential tower at its campus. The 202-unit tower will replace an existing 1980s wing and join three other buildings on the 900 University Street site. This new high rise project adds to the already high concentration of retirement communities near major medical facilities in the area.
Mithun has been selected as architect for this 500,000 square foot expansion of Horizon House’s nearly 900,000-square-foot campus while Andersen Construction serves as design builder with Westlake Consulting Group LLC acting as construction manager and Abbott Construction handling upgrades. Construction is expected to begin late 2025 or early 2026 with completion set for 2029.
