As the structure of the new 220 Park development in downtown Burlingame nears completion, a milestone has been achieved with the return and integration of its historic Burlingame Post Office building to its original location. Weighing 1,010 tons and dating back to 1940s-era, it had been temporarily relocated during construction on a two-level underground garage.
The integration prepares for transforming this iconic building into restaurant space at the base of six-story 185,000 square feet office and retail space MXU development – part of Town Square envisioned in Burlingame’s Downtown Specific Plan. Dostart Development Company (DDC) and Sares Regis Group Northern California are joint venture partners behind this project.
Mollie Ricker from DDC commented: “Our tenants will enjoy exceptional amenities such as convenience right at their doorstep along with thriving community atmosphere anchored by striking new restaurant within historic Post Office building.”
