Work has begun on the Omni Midland Hotel, a new hospitality project that will be the Dallas-based company’s twelfth property in Texas. The hotel is positioned next to the town’s convention center, aligning the new rooms and amenities with the area’s existing meeting and event traffic. As construction progresses, the property is being framed as a convention-oriented lodging option designed to serve both overnight guests and day visitors.

The Omni Midland Hotel is planned with approximately 16,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space. At the core of this program is a 5,640-square-foot ballroom that can host larger gatherings, supported by additional configurable spaces intended to accommodate a range of group sizes. This meeting and event component is intended to complement the adjacent convention center by offering on-site hotel-based venues for conferences, banquets, and corporate or social functions.

The hotel is slated to deliver 143 guest rooms, including a presidential suite. These keys expand lodging inventory in close proximity to the convention center and provide a range of room types for business and leisure travelers. The guest-room count, combined with the meeting and event program, positions the property to support multi-day events that require both accommodations and function space in a single location.

Food and beverage offerings at the Omni Midland Hotel are planned across three distinct venues. A lobby bar will serve as a central social hub within the property. A sit-down coffee shop is expected to operate throughout the morning and midday, offering breakfast and lunch service. In addition, the hotel will include Bob’s Steak & Chop House, bringing a full-service steakhouse concept to the project as one of its primary dining anchors.

Wellness and leisure amenities are a notable element of the design. Plans call for a rooftop pool deck, providing outdoor space for relaxation and informal gatherings. The hotel will also house a full-service spa that includes a sauna, steam room, hot tub, cold plunge, locker rooms, relaxation lounge, and single and couples treatment rooms. These features expand the property’s appeal beyond meetings to serve resort-style and weekend guests as well as local spa visitors.

To support both hotel and convention users, the project includes an 800-space parking garage. This facility is intended to accommodate overnight guests, day visitors, and attendees of events at the convention center next door, consolidating parking in a single structured facility. The parking component is a key functional element, given the hotel’s role in serving event-driven demand.

Omni and Midland Downtown Renaissance have engaged HKS Architects as a design partner for the project. The Design Agency has also been brought on to shape the hotel’s restaurant and bar spaces, with a brief to create destination-driven concepts for both local residents and out-of-town visitors. Together, these design teams are working to align the property’s architecture, interiors, and public spaces with a hospitality program centered on meetings, dining, wellness, and proximity to the convention center.
