[[{“value”:”Flexible Meeting Space Project Near Portland Airport Opens

A new flexible meeting and events facility has opened on Portland’s east side, adding purpose-built group space near Portland International Airport. The Mindaro Event Center totals 8,000 square feet and is positioned approximately three miles west of the airport at 11707 NE Airport Way, offering a dedicated venue for business and social gatherings.

The events program at Mindaro is anchored by a 5,300-square-foot ballroom designed to host larger functions, including conferences, galas and corporate meetings. Complementing the main space is a 2,000-square-foot breakout room that can support smaller sessions, seminars or parallel programming alongside primary events. Overall banquet capacity at the center is designed to accommodate up to 380 guests.

The venue has been built with integrated technology to support modern meeting requirements, though specific systems were not detailed. In-house food and beverage service is provided by Jawfish Restaurant, which serves as the on-site caterer for events held at the property. The combination of banquet capacity, breakout space and catering positions the facility to handle a mix of corporate, association and social uses.

The Mindaro Event Center is part of the broader Mindaro Campus, which is being developed as a hospitality-focused cluster. The campus will introduce additional lodging options over the course of the year, creating a co-located mix of meeting and room inventory near the airport corridor.

Hyatt House Portland Airport is scheduled to open on the Mindaro Campus this spring, bringing 112 suite-style guestrooms to the location. A separate hotel branded as Mindaro, a JdV by Hyatt property, is expected to follow later in the year with 88 rooms. The two hotels are planned to complement the event center by offering on-site accommodations for meeting attendees and other travelers.

Phillip Wilson, general manager, described the Mindaro Event Center as a core component of a broader hospitality ecosystem in Portland aimed at giving meeting planners and guests more flexibility in how they design events. The configuration of the campus is intended to support bespoke experiences by aligning meeting space, catering and lodging within a single node.

Vesta Hospitality, a hotel and hospitality management company based in Vancouver, Washington, is the developer behind the Mindaro Campus. The firm is overseeing the creation of the event center and associated hotel assets at the airport-adjacent site. No financial terms, development costs or ownership details for the project were disclosed.
