Black Sheep Coffee is moving ahead with a sizable expansion in North Texas, signing a development agreement that will add 20 new locations across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The rollout focuses on building out a broader presence in the region rather than a single corridor, positioning the brand in a cross-section of established suburbs and emerging communities.
The new stores will be developed by franchise partner YOLOWAY, which is leading the initiative under a multi-year plan. According to the agreement, YOLOWAY expects to open the 20 locations over the next five years, pacing the expansion to bring additional sites online in a staged manner rather than all at once.
Several specific markets within the Dallas–Fort Worth area have already been identified. Confirmed locations include Bedford, Plano, Rowlett, and Grapevine, which collectively touch different parts of the metroplex. Beyond those initial commitments, Black Sheep Coffee and YOLOWAY are also targeting Richland Hills, Garland, Mobile City, Sunnyvale, Richardson, and Sachse for future stores, reflecting a strategy that spans both mature and growing suburbs.
The company is layering this agreement onto an existing U.S. footprint that remains relatively modest compared with its global platform. Black Sheep Coffee currently operates five locations in Texas and one in Miami, while its international network exceeds 130 stores across the U.K., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. The Dallas–Fort Worth plan illustrates how the brand is beginning to translate that global scale into a more visible presence in the United States.
Company leaders view the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex as a logical focal point for that next phase of growth. They have cited strong performance in current markets as a key factor supporting the decision to commit to a 20-store pipeline in North Texas. The development agreement also signals the brand’s confidence in the long-term growth prospects of the region, which they see as supportive of sustained coffee and café demand.
Additional U.S. expansion beyond the Dallas–Fort Worth program is expected to continue through 2026, with the North Texas initiative representing a major building block in the firm’s broader strategy. By concentrating on Texas’ largest metro area, Black Sheep Coffee is deepening its investment in a single, high-growth market while testing a scalable approach that can inform future rollouts in other U.S. regions.
