Mission Development Group and CLX Ventures have broken ground on Aspire at Vida, a new 300-unit multifamily community planned across from the Texas A&M-San Antonio campus. The project is rising along Jaguar Boulevard within the broader Vida master-planned development, which spans approximately 600 acres and is being developed by Southstar.

Aspire at Vida is designed as a garden-style complex with four three-story residential buildings on a 12-acre site. The unit mix is set to include one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans, targeting a range of renters drawn to the nearby university and surrounding employment centers on San Antonio’s South Side.

Planned amenities for residents span both leisure and functional uses. Outdoor features will include a resort-style swimming pool, sand volleyball court, cornhole area, playground, dog park, bike racks and a gazebo outfitted with grills and pet stations. Indoors, the community will offer a clubhouse, lounge, business center and dedicated game and arts and crafts rooms intended to support both work-from-home needs and social activity.

The developers expect Aspire at Vida to open next February, adding new housing supply in an area that has seen elevated residential construction activity. The South Side accounted for roughly 45% of all residential permits approved in the market last year, with much of that pipeline clustered around the Texas A&M-San Antonio campus and nearby job hubs.

Ongoing corporate investment is reinforcing that growth trajectory. In addition to Toyota’s continued investment on the South Side, British equipment manufacturer JCB is building its North American headquarters in the same part of the city. Those projects, together with new residential communities such as Aspire at Vida, highlight the South Side’s role as a focal point for both employment and housing expansion.
