Tacoma Arts Live, a nonprofit that supports entertainment and educational programs, will close its doors this summer.

The 2025–2026 performing arts season will be its last, the organization announced, ending 47 years of service to the creative community. The nonprofit’s event space, the Tacoma Armory, will eventually be put up for sale. The armory’s auditorium spans approximately 21,000 square feet, and the property includes nearly 40,000 square feet of office space.

While Tacoma Arts Live’s programs will continue under a new name, a number of offerings will cease following the closure. These include its performing arts season and events such as Brew 53, Arts in the Armory, and Sunday rollerskating at the Armory. Proceeds from the sale of the Tacoma Armory will be used to pay off the organization’s debt, with remaining funds directed to support its ongoing education program. The nonprofit cited a combination of debt, declining ticket sales, and reduced grant funding as reasons for the closure.
