**McCombs Enterprises Gets Green Light for San Antonio Mixed-Use Development**
Following approval from the San Antonio City Council, McCombs Enterprises is set to proceed with a major six-acre mixed-use development at West Jones Avenue and Camden Street, adjacent to the San Antonio Museum of Art.
According to the San Antonio Business Journal, the ambitious project will include up to 390 apartment units, 265,510 square feet of office space, 57,410 square feet designated for food and beverage establishments, and 58,650 square feet of retail space. In total, the development will span more than one million square feet across eight buildings.
McCombs Enterprises acquired the site from CPS Energy in 2023 for $29.5 million.
The company was founded by the late Red McCombs, a prominent Texas entrepreneur known for co-founding Clear Channel Communications and for once owning several professional sports teams, including the San Antonio Spurs, San Antonio Force, Denver Nuggets, and Minnesota Vikings. He is also the namesake of the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
McCombs Enterprises operates across five divisions: Automotive, Energy, Real Estate, Investments, and its philanthropic arm, the McCombs Foundation.
