Kane Realty Proposes Flat Iron Mixed-Use Development in Cary

Kane Realty Corporation has submitted site plans to the Town of Cary for a new mixed-use development named Flat Iron, to be located on Chatham Street. The project is set to feature a seven-story building incorporating residential units alongside a prominent restaurant and retail space.

Flat Iron is planned for a two-acre site at 602 W. Chatham Street and 523 Old Apex Road. Currently, the property consists of an unpaved parking area and a small warehouse, the latter of which would be demolished to make room for the new development. The location sits near the Chatham Street roundabout.

According to the site plans, the project will include 213 residential units, a total of 5,659 square feet of restaurant and retail space, and an eight-level parking deck with 312 spaces. The living options will range from studio apartments to two-story townhomes, along with a singular hotel room within the development.

Residents and visitors will enjoy a variety of amenities, including a swimming pool, courtyard, rooftop amenity space, community gathering areas, a fitness center, club room, and coworking space. The retail and restaurant spaces will front Old Apex Road near the traffic circle and offer outdoor patio seating, enhancing the pedestrian experience in the area.

This proposal marks another significant step in Kane Realty’s ongoing expansion in the region and aligns with Cary’s vision of creating vibrant, mixed-use environments that support both residential and commercial growth.
