**Las Vegas to Raze Public Housing Project, $400M Replacement Underway**
Marble Manor, a longstanding public housing complex in western Las Vegas that originally opened in the 1950s, is in the process of being demolished and redeveloped into a mix of new townhomes and apartment buildings.
According to a recent Shelter Realty newsletter, the transformation of Marble Manor is expected to cost between $350 million and $400 million. The redevelopment covers the 35.7-acre site and will include 627 newly-built residential units, a combination of both low-income and market-rate housing options.
The revitalized community will feature a host of amenities for residents, including a community center, retail space, urban parks, and other shared features designed to enhance the neighborhood’s livability.
Construction of the first units is scheduled to begin in March, with Metcalf Builders serving as the project’s contractor. The project will unfold over five phases and is expected to be completed by 2030.
