The RMR Group has announced the appointment of Peter Welch as Senior Vice President and Head of International, a newly created role within the organization. In this position, Welch will be responsible for driving the expansion of RMR’s international presence and strengthening relationships with global institutional capital partners.
Welch will focus exclusively on RMR and its managed clients, aligning his efforts with the firm’s capital formation initiatives and long-term strategic goals. His role will also complement the earlier appointment of Mary Smendzuik as Senior Vice President and Head of Capital Formation. While Smendzuik concentrates on North American institutional partnerships, Welch will lead the firm’s global outreach efforts.
Prior to joining RMR, Welch served as a senior advisor at Bain Capital Credit, where he focused on investment and capital formation. He also held several senior leadership roles at Wells Fargo Securities, including Singapore CEO and Head of the Global Institutional Client Group for the Asia Pacific region. In those roles, he managed key relationships with sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, and family offices.
With this strategic addition, RMR continues to bolster its leadership team to support its growing ambitions on the global stage.
