**Second U.S. Sphere Planned at National Harbor in Maryland**

A second Sphere entertainment venue has been proposed for National Harbor in Maryland, just 15 minutes from Washington, D.C.

Sphere Entertainment Co., the company behind the massive 18,000-seat Sphere in Las Vegas, has announced plans to construct a smaller version adjacent to the MGM National Harbor. This new venue would have a seating capacity of 6,000, marking the first smaller-scale Sphere facility.

The project is a collaboration involving Sphere Entertainment, the State of Maryland, Prince George’s County, National Harbor owner, and Peterson Companies. Construction is contingent on the approval of $200 million in state, local, and private funding incentives.

Once underway, the development is expected to generate approximately 2,500 construction jobs and create 4,750 operational jobs upon its completion. Officials project that the Sphere at National Harbor will yield an economic impact exceeding $1 billion annually.

“Maryland has a long history of providing world-class entertainment, and we could not be more excited to work with Sphere Entertainment to bring this cutting-edge project to life,” said Governor Wes Moore.
