Skanska Secures $166 Million in Riverside County Infrastructure Projects

Skanska has been awarded two major infrastructure projects by the County of Riverside Transportation Department, totaling $166 million in construction contracts. The projects include the $59 million Mission Boulevard Bridge Replacement Project in Jurupa Valley and the $107 million Mid County Parkway Ramona Expressway Project in San Jacinto.

The Mission Boulevard Bridge spans the Santa Ana River and plays a critical role in supporting regional mobility, safety, and improved transportation access for Riverside County residents and travelers. The new construction will feature Mission-style architectural elements, including a parabolic soffit. As part of the design upgrade to meet modern safety and flood standards, the bridge will be elevated by 4 to 6 feet.

“Being awarded the Mission Boulevard Bridge Replacement project is another opportunity for Skanska to partner with the County of Riverside Transportation Department to deliver safe, resilient infrastructure that supports regional mobility and sustainability,” said James Bailey, Executive Vice President of Skanska USA Civil’s West Coast operations.

Meanwhile, the Mid County Parkway project will widen eight miles of the eastbound Ramona Expressway from one lane in each direction to a more expansive configuration. The improvements aim to enhance safety, decrease congestion, and improve travel across the region. The project is also expected to increase economic opportunities, shorten commute times, and provide better access to jobs, education, and other forms of transportation throughout the San Jacinto area.

These projects reflect Riverside County’s continued investment in critical infrastructure to support growing transportation demands and long-term regional development.
