JPS Launches $2.5 Billion Overhaul of Fort Worth Medical Campus

The JPS Health Network has unveiled a comprehensive Master Facility Plan to transform its Fort Worth medical campus. Valued at $2.5 billion, the plan includes building a new hospital and expanding the current Pavilion, with the goal of replacing aging infrastructure with modern, state-of-the-art medical facilities. The project aims to improve patient safety, increase comfort, and enhance the overall efficiency of care. The existing facility currently houses 600 patient beds.

As part of this ongoing transformation, three new facilities have opened on the existing JPS campus:

– A new 80,000-square-foot JPS Psychiatric Emergency Center
– The Medical Home Southwest Tarrant Health Center, located at 5001 Mesa Springs Drive
– The Las Vegas Trail Health Center, created in collaboration with Cook Children’s Health Care System

Looking ahead, JPS plans to open a new outpatient facility in early 2029. This facility will offer a wide range of services, including laboratory testing, medical imaging, an ambulatory surgical center, provider clinics, and a retail pharmacy. Additional expansions are scheduled for completion in 2030.

Funding for the redevelopment comes from a combination of Tarrant County bonds and JPS cash reserves. This significant investment targets long-term improvements in healthcare delivery across the region.
