Cushman & Wakefield has announced that Senior Director Aaron Barnard, SIOR, CCIM, has been named President-Elect of The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). He will serve a one-year term on the SIOR Board of Directors. Barnard, based in the firm’s Bloomington, Minnesota office, is a 33-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry.
MLG Capital has appointed Kelly Whetstone as Chief Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel. In this leadership position, Whetstone will oversee the firm’s compliance programs and provide strategic legal counsel, supporting MLG Capital’s dedication to regulatory adherence and ethical standards.
Colliers has expanded its Indianapolis office with the addition of a tenant representation team. Led by Matt Waggoner, Vice Chair, the team includes Graham Summers, Executive Vice President, and Phil Mosey, Vice President. Collectively, they bring a decade’s worth of experience guiding some of Indiana’s major employers through complex real estate transactions.
Kiser Group has launched a new Affordable Housing Division. This business line is focused on clients pursuing mission-driven investments and developments with community impact. The division is headed by Directors Alex Mora and Spencer Burd, who specialize in affordable housing transactions, public-private partnerships, and long-term investment strategies.
National architectural and design firm Vocon has opened a new office in Chicago located at 730 N. Franklin St. in the historic Central Arts Building. Leading the Chicago office is Studio Director Sophie Bidek, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, the immediate past president of CREW Chicago.
In a recent forecast presented by the Chicagoland Apartment Association, it was reported that downtown Chicago will see only a modest increase in new apartment supply through the coming year. This follows 2025, which marked the lowest level of new downtown deliveries in over a decade. In contrast, suburban markets remain strong, with 96% occupancy and nearly 4,700 new apartment units currently under construction. The market outlook was presented by Ron DeVries, Senior Managing Director of Integra Realty Resources.
