**First Solar Leases 1.3 Million Square Feet at Glenstar’s Gaffney Industrial Park for $330M Facility**
Glenstar Logistics has leased 1.3 million square feet to First Solar at its Cherokee Commerce Center 85 (CCC-85), a 290-acre industrial park located in Gaffney, South Carolina. Developed in partnership with Creek Lane Capital, the park will be home to First Solar’s newly announced $330 million manufacturing facility.
The new facility, expected to begin operations in the second half of 2026, will produce the company’s Series 6 solar modules and is projected to create more than 600 new jobs in the region. To accommodate the project, CCC-85’s Building 2—a 550,520-square-foot speculative facility located at 121 Logistics Drive—will be expanded to 1.3 million square feet.
Michael White of Savills and Nate Zoucha of CBRE represented First Solar during the leasing process. Representing Glenstar Logistics were John Montgomery, Garrett Scott, Dillon Swayngim, and Brockton Hall from Colliers’ Spartanburg office. Evans General Contractors has been tapped to oversee construction, with Ware Malcomb serving as the project’s architect.
First Solar is recognized as the largest solar manufacturer in the United States.
