**Investor Group Acquires Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa for $149 Million**
A joint venture comprised of South Street Partners, Dream Finders Homes, Diamond Baseball Holdings, and select equity partners has acquired the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, for $149 million. The seller was Carey Watermark Investors. Financing for the acquisition was provided by affiliated funds of BDT & MSD Partners.
The joint venture plans to invest significantly in enhancing the resort’s offerings, with a comprehensive renovation initiative in the works.
The 66-acre resort is strategically located adjacent to the PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, home to THE PLAYERS Championship since 1982. It is also near the newly developed PGA TOUR Global Home and PGA TOUR Studios.
The resort includes 351 hotel rooms and 163 villa units, approximately 114,000 square feet of meeting space, nine on-site food and beverage outlets, and a 25,000-square-foot full-service spa and fitness center. Additionally, the property features a two-acre oceanfront Cabana Beach Club, home to the exclusive 1912 Ocean Bar & Rooftop, with a membership of 700. Sawgrass Marriott is located just three miles from Ponte Vedra Beach.
