Colliers Facilitates Long-Term Lease for Defense Contractor in San Diego
Colliers has successfully arranged an 83,469-square-foot lease at 2727 Kurtz Street, a two-story industrial warehouse and research and development facility located in San Diego’s Sports Arena/Airport submarket. The new tenant, Saronic Technologies, Inc., a defense contractor, signed a long-term lease agreement with the property’s ownership team—a joint venture between Realterm and LaSalle Investment Management.
The landlord, represented by Colliers’ Executive Vice Presidents Mark Lewkowitz and Evan McDonald, along with Associate Vice President Kurtis Blanchard, secured the lease with assistance from Savills’ Vice Chairman Shane Poppen and Associate Director Louis Bickett, who represented Saronic.
Strategically positioned in a central San Diego location, the property has consistently been a valuable investment for industrial stakeholders. Realterm and LaSalle acquired the asset in 2016. It was previously occupied by Amazon, which had leased the building since 2015 before vacating earlier this year.
“It’s very rare for buildings of this size, with a good clear height, heavy power capabilities, secured parking, and dock-high doors to become available in the Sports Arena/Airport market,” said Lewkowitz. “These features made it a highly desirable property, which helped us secure a long-term lease with a strong defense company doing important work with the Navy.”
