**California Forever Proposes 400,000-Resident City Within Expanded Suisun City**

California Forever has officially submitted a proposal to build a new city for 400,000 residents as part of an expansion plan for Suisun City in Solano County. The ambitious vision, backed by tech billionaires, is the latest step in California Forever’s ongoing collaboration with Suisun City’s municipal government. The city has expressed interest in annexing land to increase its revenue streams.

According to the San Francisco Business Times, by developing within Suisun City’s boundaries, California Forever can bypass a ballot initiative that would have otherwise been required to build in unincorporated parts of Solano County. The plan calls for the annexation of approximately 20,000 acres east of Suisun City’s current limits.

In a letter to city officials, California Forever founder Jan Sramek and head of planning Gabriel Metcalf outlined the project’s anticipated benefits. “We believe this project will bring to Suisun City and Solano County more broadly a major new employment center, including special focus on advanced manufacturing at the Solano Foundry, major new investments, a new source of tax revenue, and a multi-decade supply of new homes in well-planned, walkable neighborhoods for a wide range of people,” the letter stated.

The annexation process and full development of the California Forever project are projected to take several decades to complete.
