MetroNational Acquires CityCentre Retail Component

MetroNational, the developer behind Houston’s Memorial City, has acquired the open-air retail portion of the neighboring CityCentre complex. The newly acquired property spans 309,144 square feet and adds to MetroNational’s expanding footprint in the area. This acquisition follows MetroNational’s August 2025 purchase of 990 Town & Country Blvd., a 442,042-square-foot Class AA office tower that serves as the northern gateway to CityCentre.

MetroNational represented itself in the transaction, while JLL acted as the broker on behalf of the seller, TriGate Capital.

As part of its vision for the property, MetroNational will partner with Houston-based Radom Capital to redevelop the retail center.

Originally opened in 2009, the CityCentre retail hub is home to approximately two dozen food and beverage venues, ranging from fast casual to fine dining. Tenants include Bellagreen, Daily Gather, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, North Italia, Sal y Pimienta, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, and Yard House.

Retail offerings at the location feature a mix of national and boutique names, such as Allen Edmonds, Anthropologie, Kendra Scott, Sephora, Sur La Table, Tecovas, Warby Parker, and West Elm. The center also includes entertainment and service providers like Star Cinema Grill and The Escape Room. Recent retail additions include American Threads, Rowan, Southern Tide, and Great Big Game Show.

This strategic acquisition further solidifies MetroNational’s presence in west Houston and positions it for continued influence over the CityCentre development’s future evolution.
