**Los Angeles Sparks to Build $150M Headquarters in El Segundo**

The three-time WNBA champion Los Angeles Sparks have announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art, $150 million training and practice facility in El Segundo. Slated to open in 2027, the 55,000-square-foot facility will serve as the team’s official headquarters and training center. The project is being developed in partnership with renowned architecture and design firm Gensler, alongside real estate services provider Transwestern.

Located in El Segundo’s Continental Park, the new facility underscores a broader movement toward increased investment in women’s professional sports. Once completed, El Segundo will be the only city in the U.S. to host five professional sports teams across football, hockey, men’s basketball, rugby, and women’s basketball.

“I am excited by the Los Angeles Sparks’ decision to build their new headquarters and training facility in Continental Park on the Rosecrans Corridor,” said Richard Lundquist, CEO of Continental Development Corporation. “In three years, we’ve attracted the Los Angeles Chargers and the Sparks to El Segundo, proving this small city has tremendous appeal.”

The facility is designed to reflect Southern California’s natural landscape, taking full advantage of the region’s favorable climate. Planned features include an outdoor spa area and abundant natural lighting, as well as sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and surrounding mountains.

This initiative marks a milestone for women’s sports infrastructure and reflects a broader commitment to providing equitable resources and opportunities for female athletes.
