**Gwynedd Mercy University Unveils Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center**
Gwynedd Mercy University recently celebrated the grand opening of the Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center (HIC), a state-of-the-art, 63,000-square-foot academic facility dedicated to advancing healthcare education.
The $63 million project was supported by a $10 million donation from the Maguire Foundation and began welcoming students this fall. Designed to meet modern healthcare training needs, the HIC features nine cutting-edge skills labs, 15 simulation rooms, and specialized learning environments. Additionally, it includes the Frances Cannata Stimmler ’66 and Joseph Stimmler Inspiration Station—an expansive space designed for large-scale simulations—and a two-story collaborative atrium that fosters interdisciplinary teamwork and learning.
“For more than 70 years, GMercyU has distinguished itself as a leader in preparing healthcare professionals who combine clinical excellence with genuine compassion,” said Deanne H. D’Emilio, JD, president of Gwynedd Mercy University. “With the opening of the Frances M. Maguire Healthcare Innovation Center, we are extending that legacy and positioning our students to meet today’s workforce demands and shape tomorrow’s care.”
The Frances M. Maguire ’55 Healthcare Innovation Center marks a significant investment in the future of healthcare education in Pennsylvania, further solidifying GMercyU’s role as a premier institution for training the next generation of healthcare leaders.
