**Publix to Anchor $30M Decatur Shopping Center Development**
A 50,000-square-foot Publix supermarket is set to anchor a new shopping center in Decatur, Georgia. The project is being led by Venture South Investments and will also include an outparcel retail building and a smaller space intended for local businesses.
With a price tag of $30 million, construction on the development is expected to begin in 2025, with completion slated for late 2027.
According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Venture South Investments acquired the property assemblage in June for nearly $5 million. The site is located at 1816 Candler Road, at the intersection of Candler and Glenwood roads in DeKalb County.
This project marks another addition to Venture South’s growing portfolio of Publix-anchored developments. The firm has previously completed similar projects in cities including Athens, Hampton, Macon, McDonough, and Alexander City, Alabama. Current developments by the firm span from Lady Lake, Florida, to Mauldin, South Carolina.
