**Former JEA Headquarters in Downtown Jacksonville to Be Transformed into Mixed-Use Development**

Live Oak Contracting has acquired the former headquarters of JEA in downtown Jacksonville for $1 million at auction, with plans to completely redevelop the property into a vibrant mixed-use destination.

Located at 21 West Church Street, the 19-story office tower was declared surplus property after JEA relocated to new offices at 225 N. Pearl Street in 2023. Originally constructed in the mid-1960s, the building will now undergo a major transformation spearheaded by Live Oak Contracting in partnership with Lone Pine Development.

Once completed, the redevelopment—dubbed “The Jewel at 21 West”—will feature 180 residential units, retail and dining options, as well as community spaces, all within the 350,000-square-foot structure. Highlight amenities will include a rooftop lounge and an amenity deck, bringing new energy and lifestyle offerings to the downtown core.

Live Oak Contracting is a full-service development and construction firm with a track record of over 50 years, operating across ten states. The company specializes in development, design-assist builds, renovations, and rehabilitations.

The project signifies a major step in the ongoing revitalization of downtown Jacksonville, turning a landmark office tower into a dynamic, multi-use urban asset.
