**Taiwanese Tech Manufacturer Inventec Investing $55M in Katy Factory**
Inventec Manufacturing, a leading electronics manufacturer based in Taiwan, is set to break ground next month on a new 540,000-square-foot production facility in Katy, Texas. Located at 23623 Colonial Parkway, the state-of-the-art plant represents a $55 million investment and is expected to generate over 500 new jobs.
The facility will support Inventec’s ongoing production of electronic devices, which include well-known products such as gaming laptops, Amazon Fire tablets, and Kindle e-readers. While Inventec manufactures the devices, they are often rebranded and sold by top global technology brands. The new Katy facility is classified as a Class A industrial complex, signifying a high-quality, modern construction standard.
The site work is scheduled for completion by mid-October.
Newmark represented Inventec in the transaction, while Cushman & Wakefield acted on behalf of the property owner and landlord.
In related news, Arizon RFID, another electronics manufacturer known for making inventory scanners for major retail clients like Uniqlo and Walmart, is also preparing for a major expansion in the Houston area. The company is finalizing a lease for a new research and development center and a U.S.-based production plant.
The developments further strengthen Houston’s position as an emerging hub for advanced electronics manufacturing and technology innovation.
