**Sarah Smith Appointed Executive Director of Everett Housing Authority**
The Everett Housing Authority (EHA) has announced the appointment of Sarah Smith as its new Executive Director, effective November 1. Smith brings over 12 years of leadership experience in the housing authority sector, with a strong record of expanding affordable housing programs, enhancing resident services, and promoting community development.
Most recently, Smith served as Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Executive Director at the Fort Wayne Housing Authority. In this role, she oversaw key divisions including Public Housing, Housing Choice Vouchers, and Resident Services. She was also responsible for managing several large-scale federal grant programs such as the Department of Labor’s YouthBuild, HUD’s Jobs Plus, and a HUD Choice Neighborhoods planning grant.
Earlier in her career, Smith held multiple leadership roles at the Seattle Housing Authority from 2013 to 2019, concluding her tenure as the Housing Programs & Occupancy Administrator.
To support a smooth leadership transition, current EHA Executive Director Mary Swenson will remain on to assist Smith through the end of the year.
