**Cincinnati’s Convention Center Hotel to Become a Marriott**

Cincinnati’s revamped convention center district will soon welcome a new hospitality centerpiece: a 700-room Marriott hotel. The announcement was made by developer Portman Holdings, marking a significant step in the city’s ongoing Convention District Revitalization Plan.

Construction on the hotel is slated to begin by the end of this year, with completion expected in 2028. The project coincides with the nearing completion of renovations to the Duke Energy Convention Center, which is on track to be finished by year-end.

The upcoming Marriott hotel will feature 62,000 square feet of meeting space, a 17,445-square-foot outdoor events terrace, and an array of upscale amenities. The property will also include multiple ballrooms, ground-floor retail, and a landscaped outdoor terrace designed to enhance the guest and event experience.

“Marriott’s involvement will help deliver a world-class hospitality experience in the heart of Cincinnati’s Convention District,” said Kaunteya Chitnis, managing director of hospitality at Portman Holdings.

The Marriott hotel is a key component of the broader revitalization effort, which includes $264 million in upgrades to the convention center and enhancements to surrounding public spaces—aiming to transform the downtown area into a more vibrant hub for business, tourism, and community events.
