**Iconic San Antonio High-Rise Slated for Transformation into Apartments and Restaurant**

The historic Nix Building in downtown San Antonio is set to undergo a major redevelopment, converting the iconic high-rise into a mixed-use property featuring 329 apartments and a ground-floor restaurant. The project is being spearheaded by Innjoy Hospitality, with XA Collective Architecture + Planning, HM3 Engineering, and A-1 Engineering contributing to the development.

Closed since 2020, the building originally opened in 1930 as the J. M. Nix Professional Building and was later known as the Nix Medical Center. Located at 414 Navarro Street, the structure was once a 208-bed acute care hospital and stood out as the largest and tallest hospital in the United States at the time of its debut.

At its grand opening, the building showcased a wide array of amenities including a basement cafeteria, tailor shop, barbershop, a stunning marble-floored lobby with brass fixtures, eight floors designated for parking, ten floors of office space, and a 200-bed hospital occupying the top six floors.

This adaptive reuse project signals a significant new chapter for one of downtown San Antonio’s most recognized landmarks.
