**Blackstone Acquires Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor for $200 Million**
Blackstone (NYSE: BX) has acquired the Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor from Allegiant Travel Company (NASDAQ: ALGT) in a transaction valued at $200 million. Allegiant Travel, known primarily for its airline business, plans to use the proceeds from the sale to repay debt and bolster its balance sheet.
Scott Trebilco of Blackstone commented on the acquisition, stating, “The acquisition of this brand new, highly amenitized resort demonstrates our strong conviction in hospitality and travel and the continued growth in group-oriented destinations.”
Located on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor spans 22 waterfront acres and features 785 guest rooms. The resort offers an extensive array of amenities including multiple dining venues, two pools, a full-service spa, fitness center, a rooftop adults-only pool and bar, a championship golf course, and more than 60,000 square feet of indoor meeting space.
Barclays acted as the financial advisor to Allegiant Travel Company in connection with the transaction.
