**CRE Executives Highlight Key Opportunities Ahead in 2025**
“We’re really focused on sectors where we see strong tailwinds to demographics coupled with limited future supply in the near term and strong demand generally. So that’s putting us into the housing sectors.”
That’s the perspective of Jonathan Watson, Managing Director at AEW Capital Management, when asked about the opportunities industry leaders are anticipating for the remainder of 2025. Watson shared his insights during this year’s Connect Los Angeles 2025 event, where Connect CRE spoke with several key figures in commercial real estate.
At Jamison, the spotlight is on adaptive reuse—especially converting older office properties into residential units. CEO Jaime Lee emphasized the pressing housing shortage in Los Angeles. “We have such a dire need for housing in the city of LA and we’re really focused on bringing a more sustainable use to these buildings,” Lee explained.
Additional insights came from industry leaders including Jim Dillavou, Co-Founder and Principal at Paragon Commercial Group; Jim Brooks, President of BH Properties; and Antonio Hachem, Principal at Slatt Capital. Each offered their take on emerging trends, challenges, and the most promising sectors within the CRE landscape moving into 2025.
