Georgia Tech is moving forward with plans to develop the “Creative Quarter,” a dynamic new innovation district aimed at attracting companies and incubating new ventures. Modeled after the university’s successful Technology Square and Science Square developments, the Creative Quarter will highlight Georgia Tech’s renowned engineering program and further expand its innovation ecosystem.
Spanning approximately 7 acres at the intersection of Marietta Street and North Avenue—close to Science Square and The Coca-Cola Company’s headquarters—the site sits on the former Randall Bros. headquarters, which the Georgia Tech Foundation acquired for $36 million.
According to The Atlanta Business Chronicle, the Creative Quarter will feature a mix of academic, residential, hospitality, retail, and office spaces. The development will also include creative maker spaces, performance halls, soundstages, and production studios, making it a hub for innovation and artistic expression.
The initiative builds on the momentum of prior Georgia Tech developments. Tech Square has brought thousands of jobs to the area and is home to major corporate presences such as Norfolk Southern Corp.’s headquarters and innovation centers for The Home Depot and others. Meanwhile, Science Square recently secured a new research and development hub for Duracell, reinforcing the university’s growing role in fostering corporate partnerships and technological advancement.
With the Creative Quarter, Georgia Tech seeks to further position itself at the intersection of creativity, commerce, and cutting-edge research, fostering a new wave of innovation and entrepreneurship in Atlanta.
