Cyrus One, a leading data center provider with facilities in Aurora and Lombard, is planning to expand its operations by constructing three new towers and two additional buildings. The proposed development will cover over 500,000 square feet on a 32-acre site situated near Interstate 88 on Bilter Road in Kendall County. This location is strategically close to CyrusOne’s existing facility in Aurora.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the new campus will include three telecommunications towers – two of which will be located on the Bilter Road site while one will be built at their current campus. The company has submitted plans for this expansion to local authorities in Aurora.
The planned development consists of two buildings – one spanning over 411,000 square feet and another covering an area of 150,000 square feet. As per CyrusOne’s proposal submitted to city officials in Aurora,the height of these structures would range from300-350 feet tall.The construction project is set within Butterfield Planned Development district which has limited available land for such developments.
