The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, known as the busiest airport in the world, is undergoing a major expansion project. The $1.3 billion endeavor will widen Concourse D to accommodate more passengers and larger aircrafts.

Utilizing a modular building approach, 19 modules will be constructed at an off-site location on Sullivan Road and then transported for installation at Concourse D. This method aims to minimize disruptions to airport operations.

Originally opened in 1980 as one of five concourses at the domestic terminal, Concourse D currently has an 18-foot circulation corridor and seating for 5,400 passengers.
