Transom Real Estate and Harbor Run Development’s affiliate, THR Acquisition, LLC, has commenced construction on the Northampton Street Residences in Boston’s South End. The five-story building will be located at 597-599 Columbus Ave., replacing a former parking lot. It will consist of 47 units designed for moderate-income first-time homebuyers and include studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom options as well as community spaces, bike storage facilities, and an accessible unit.

According to Chief of Planning Arthur Jemison: “These upcoming homes provide affordable homeownership opportunities for Roxbury residents while also showcasing the type of positive investment we strive to see in Boston.” This project has been in development for over four years and aligns with area planning objectives and community goals.

The project was approved by the Boston Planning & Development Agency with financial support from MassHousing’s CommonWealth Builder Program along with Eastern Bank and Massachusetts Housing Investment Corporation (MHIC) Healthy Neighborhood Equity Fund II.
