Lendlease and IHG Army Hotels have recently commenced construction on a 207-room Candlewood Suites hotel at Fort Liberty, a prominent U.S. Army base located in central North Carolina. The highly-anticipated hotel is scheduled to open its doors in early 2026.

In line with their role as lodging developers for the Department of Defense, Lendlease will be the owner of this property while IHG Army Hotels will oversee its operations. This marks the duo’s 17th collaboration since 2009 under the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program – an initiative led by the U.S. Army to modernize on-base accommodations for military personnel, their families and government travelers. With over 100,000 annual guests, Fort Liberty is set to benefit greatly from this new addition.

The upcoming Candlewood Suites Fort Liberty boasts studio, one-, and two-bedroom suites equipped with full kitchens for added convenience. Guests can also enjoy access to various amenities including a business center, lounge area, fitness facility and laundry services among others – not forgetting complimentary breakfast options.

This development by Lendlease and IHG represents another milestone in their successful partnership as they continue to elevate military lodging standards across various locations nationwide.
